16 Sep #232 – MED Toolbox #5: Quantity Video games & The Worth of Small PR’s

Matt and Scott focus on a current programming revelation from one among Scott’s purchasers, a 40 yr previous lifter he has been working with for a couple of yr.


Scott has his lifter engaged on a 3-week mesocycle with typical 5×5 quantity days for squats and presses. After observing that the lifter’s barspeed was fairly quick throughout a number of consecutive depth day lifts, Scott took it as an indication that the quantity day work was sufficiently driving progress and determined to carry the burden on the bar regular for future quantity day exercises. Curiously, the lifter has continued to hit depth day PR’s for a number of weeks with out rising the burden of the quantity work.


RIP Glenn Pendlay, who handed away on September 5, 2019. Glenn left behind many contributions to the power world — he launched a method of barbell row now generally known as the Pendlay Row, had a hand within the creation of the Texas Technique, and coached many Olympic weightlifters.
